FAQ

Straight answers.

Getting started, floor operations, pricing and payments, the customer portal, and your data.

Getting started

Who is prepCntr for?
Prep centers and 3PLs that handle inventory for Amazon sellers and e-commerce brands. If you receive boxes, prep them, and ship them out (managed FBA, self-service FBA, customer forward, or disposal), prepCntr is built for you.
How long does setup take?
Most teams are up and running in an afternoon. Pick a subdomain and create your tenant, add your warehouses and storage locations, invite your customers, configure your service pricing, and connect Stripe. No setup call required.
Do I need new hardware?
No. prepCntr runs in the browser on whatever your floor already uses. For labels, our small desktop print app connects prepCntr to your thermal label printer.
Can I migrate from spreadsheets?
Yes. You set up your customers, products, and pricing during onboarding and start clean from your first scanned shipment. Your historical records stay in your archives.

Floor operations

How does the pipeline work?
Every item follows the same seven-stage path: Dock-in, Intake, Unpack, Prep, Pack, Release, and Dock-out. Approval gates at pack, release, and dock-out catch mistakes before a shipment leaves the building. Walk the pipeline on the product page →
How does printing work?
We provide a small desktop print app that connects prepCntr to your thermal label printer. FNSKU and box labels print straight to the device, with no browser print dialogs or extra plugins.
What about kits and bundles?
Bundle and kit recipes are built in: define a multipack or combo pack once and every build repeats identically, with component-level inventory so each unit inside a bundle stays accountable. Multipack and combo work is priced through your service pricing.
What if items arrive damaged?
Damaged items are recorded as part of the flow. Damaged quantities are tracked separately, and inventory adjustments let you reclassify stock when things change.

Pricing & payments

How is my customers' work priced?
You set a price for every service you offer: base prep, multipacks, combo packs, custom instructions, pack-and-ship fees, priority surcharges, and order minimums. Order costs are computed from those settings, so what the floor does maps directly to what you charge.
How do volume tiers work?
Tiers assign automatically from each customer's average monthly volume over the last twelve months, so high-volume customers get your tiered rates without a monthly renegotiation.
How do my customers pay me?
Stripe is built in. Customers pay invoices online via Stripe Checkout, and you can see payment status against every order. You'll connect your Stripe account during setup.
What does prepCntr cost me?
A flat monthly subscription for the software, plus per-unit usage for the work that runs through it. Both appear on one invoice. See pricing for plans and the free trial.

Portal & brand

What do my customers see?
Their own branded portal: live inventory, order placement with costs shown up front, order status through every stage, and online payment. Each customer sees only their own data.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Every tenant runs on a yourname.prepcntr.com subdomain by default, and on the Premium plan you can verify a custom domain (warehouse.yourbrand.com) so your customers see your brand, not ours.

Platform & data

Is my data isolated from other prep centers?
Yes. Every tenant's data is isolated at the platform layer, and within your tenant each customer only sees their own inventory and orders.
What integrations exist?
Stripe is live for payments today, and our desktop print app connects your thermal label printer. We only list integrations here once they're built and working.
